Larry Saldanha

Larry Saldanha has been a strong advocate for sustainability at the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, where he has served the campus community both as Chair of the Environmental Committee (EC) and as Director of the Humber Environmental Action Team (HEAT). During this time he developed education and outreach programs to improve environmental awareness on campus and provided leadership to the College in the areas of environmental management and planning..

     His passion for the environment extends well beyond the campus. Larry has been actively involved with the Humber Arboretum, a conservation area along the Humber River, helping to promote the development of a new Centre for Urban Ecology. In addition, he has also helped support a range of environmental initiatives across the Greater Toronto Area through his involvement on the City of Toronto Environmental Task Force and Sustainability Roundtable.

     Larry's broad experience in the non-profit sector includes working on social marketing projects with a number of community groups and NGOs, including Earth Day Canada, the Clean Air Partnership, and the Ontario Association of Food Banks. Most recently he served as Director of Marketing & Development for CSA Ontario, a non-profit advocacy organization that works on a provincial and federal level on issues concerning postsecondary education, skills development, and poverty.

     A graduate of the Volunteer Management Program at Humber, Larry received an award recognizing his contributions to the campus community. He continues to give back to the community by serving on the HEAT Advisory Board.
